If you think things will get better after the opening scene - they won't. The only reason I have given this one star is because some of the acting isn't bad. Every other aspect is TERRIBLE. A director who doesn't know how to direct - camera operator(s) who have no idea about lenses or the basic operation of a camera - a sound recordist/boom who has no idea of how to capture decent sound - a lighting director who has no idea of lighting. This is a mess. The colour grading is bad. The editing is bad. The story never really gets going - and goes nowhere very fast. Even if you have some spare time you would get more entertainment from watching back to back commercials for 85 minutes - I joke not!

Alice D otherwise known as The Haunting of Alice D otherwise known as Tainted otherwise known as American Poltergeist 6 is terrible horror that I'm still reeling from so bear with me. It tells the story of a group of friends in a refurbished mansion that decide to have a party, and by party I mean invite some prostitutes round and that's basically it. Sadly the house has a history as one of their great grandfathers used it as a brothel where unspeakable things took place. Starring horror legend Kane Hodder and wrestling veteran Al Snow this is a dire piece of stupidity that fails to ever get started. It's a haunting type but don't expecting much to actually happen. You know most found footage haunting films where it's 99% talking then suddenly everything happens at once and it's still not very good? It's like that, but it's not found footage. It looks ugly, everything about it is uninspired and I'm shocked Hodder agreed to do this. A messy devoid of redeeming features steaming pile of otter dung. His is a plot explanation spoiler review in case you haven't figured things out from the early clues, but not plot spoiler per se. A large brothel was home to Alice a rebellious prostitute and committed suicide. Four generations later the family still owns the house and a party ensues of four guys and prostitutes. One woman supplies the party with LSD, which is delivered through the whisky which has a note "see you on the other side" some buzz words for acid users, i.e. Doors "Break on Through to the Other Side." A story is then planted in everyone's mind about Alice D which sounds a lot like LSD, get it...which unfortunately they couldn't create a decent movie around the pun no better than Joan or Arcadia. The question as to how real is the ghost they briefly see or is it hallucination. On a side note about LSD: placing it in a bottle is bad business as there is no way to measure dosage which is tough enough to begin with. The second aspect is that anyone who has done LSD, knows what the onset feels like (tingling at base of skull) and also know when they are on it. You just don't suddenly start to "see things." In fact most of the time you don't see things, you just think everything is funny...especially MST 3000 designed for acid users. I hate it when people who have heard one Grateful Dead song, think they know all about acid trips. Guide: sex, brief rape, nudity.

There is something really annoying in this movie, beside the sheer fact that it exists. So this guy throws a wild party, but trust me when I say, this is the most boring party ever. Why? No freaking music. The sound manager botched the movie even more by amplifying the noises (kisses, walking sounds, hitting) while the dialogue is toned down. Very unprofessional. Then we come to the acting. I give it a solid F. Effects are non-existent. The guy in charge of killings is obviously very shy cuz all killings happen off-screen. Then they show you the bodies smeared with cheap ketchup. Well, I barely finished watching this movie, and already having trouble remembering much, so I'll draw the line here. If you respect and value your time, skip that floater.

I think some people got really drunk one night, filmed some silly antics, woke up the next day, re-watched the footage and thought to themselves, in their hungover, still slightly euphoric state 'you know what, these rooms appear to be slightly scary, imagine if we got do anything actor Kane Hodder for ten minutes, we could make a horror film'. And this is exactly what this poor excuse for a film feels like..... In the 1890s the Davenport House was a famous brothel, until a young prostitute named Alice killed herself there. After her death, the brothel became haunted by her ghost, and was abandoned. More than a century later, the old structure is renovated into a beautiful mansion, but It is still rumoured to be haunted by Alice. Despite this though, the new owner, whom happens to be the rich and arrogant heir to the Davenport fortune, decides to throw a wild party for his first night in the house.... If your idea of a good film is watching three different, but boring scenarios, happening in three different, but boring rooms, with a strange noise or sighting every now and again, this may have been tailor made for you. So we have two groups of people in this film, the rich, abhorrent men, who look and act like a pound shop style Entourage, and the 'hired' girls, who look and act like they are really inebriated and off their faces on kinds of chemicals. Except for one out of each group who just happen to be slightly nicer than the others, hence making them the 'heroes' of the film. So while these two are in a room bonding with each other, the other members of the party are getting in too all sorts of scrapes with the titular ghoul. And that's it. It's a really poor effort for a film, Hodder pops up in flashbacks as the owner of the brothel circa the 1890s, but even he looks like he couldn't care less. Devoid of scares, characters to care about, or even a decent setting, Alice D is really not worth your time.

I do not know how this movie have such high rating. I started watching it and have to stop with boredom. The acting is awfully bad, I mean BAD, the story sucks and I guess only some nudity makes the movie more interesting for some people but, please believe me watch or try to watch this movie at your own risk I hope this gets the stars that it deserve even I suppose that friends and people involved in this movie will intoxicate the ratings sooner or later. this is the plot: In the late 1890s the Davenport House was a famous and successful brothel, until a young prostitute named Alice killed herself there. After her death, the brothel became haunted by Alice's ghost, and was eventually abandoned. More than a century later, the old structure is renovated into a beautiful mansion. It is still rumored to inhabit the ghost of Alice. Despite this, the new owner; the rich and arrogant heir to the Davenport fortune, decides to throw a wild party for his first night in the house.

OK so I never make reviews of movies ever, but this one I just had to. This has to be the worst movie I have ever seen - AND I couldn't even watch the entire thing. We fast forwarded through it after the first 20 minutes. Number one, HORRIBLE acting. I felt like I was watching someones home video from 1985. Trashy. Number two - the sound was horrible. It sounded like the actors (if you can even call them that) had mic's in their mouth and ass - it was acoustic sounding and you could hear everything from a girls necklace moving to them breathing it was so annoying. Lastly, it was just stupid and annoying, the camera would just stay on their faces without them talking just standing there and at the end, which basically the only horror was towards the end, which wasn't even horror, you couldn't tell what the hell was going on because the camera man was all over the place and then they just kept showing 2 bad actresses laying on the floor breathing heavy. Just horrible.

The basic premise is prostitute offs herself then haunts the former brothel, now mansion. The mansion is owned by the former brothel owner. He's young(ish), arrogant, and decides to have a wild party in the house with his buddies and *ahem* 'dancers.' That's about as far as I got. The movie was unwatchable. It was like watching extremely boring *, without the actual *. The acting is terrible, the script is terrible. Just awful. I guess the high-ish (much too high for what it is) rating is due to friends of the film makers giving absurdly high ratings. I PAID for this on Amazon. Don't make the same mistake! Your time and/or money will be wasted.
