It's easy to watch something you and your family have been excited about and waiting for. What isn't easy is putting into words how fantastic it was without giving anything away. Fantastic is too lackluster of a term. The Sleepless Unrest was phenomenal! A true 5 out of 5.
It is 81 immersive minutes spent taking a journey with 4 people as they experience interactions with those no longer living in the traditional sense yet very much still present.
A home that's been standing for 285 years is going to have a history. The land is going to have a history. You'll see what I mean when you watch it yourself. The team in this film was highly respective of the property and those who remain there. As with all of their other investigations that I've seen, their intent is to listen, understand, and help if needed.
The chill factor comes from witnessing things we are still all trying to understand and learn about happen before our very own eyes. Nothing is faked. Nothing is staged. So when you see, and I won't ruin anything...but when you see an object move off another object with no one around..you can take to heart that there was unseen presence that wanted to be felt and heard. It's not something you take lightly because you feel the authenticity. You really feel it. It will rock you to your core.
Picture if you will 4 very talkative family members who 1 minute into a film become increasingly silent as they all lean forward in their seats intently watching and listening to each captivating moment. There was a lot of focus, laughter, a few jumps, and several occasions of hitting rewind just to see something again.
I am fascinated by the paranormal yet not a fan of horror movies so I can admit I've only seen a some of one Conjuring movie. My family, on the other hand, have seen them all. Personally I think The Sleepless Unrest is the perfect middle for us. It takes you first hand into that environment and world but with a fresh perspective.
Often, what we don't know is what can be the most frightening. If we don't understand it, we don't always know how to accept it.
The choice is yours. Are you ready and willing to take the journey with these four talented and dedicated professionals? Are you ready to experience what they experienced in the house that inspired The Conjuring films? Are you ready to see things that science can't explain?
I can promise this....after you watch it, your mind will keep going. It will want more. It will start to think differently. And for that, and ten thousand other reasons, I highly recommend it. When we stop thinking more and when we stop challenging what we think we know already, we stop growing. Thank you to the entire crew of this film for keeping all of us on our toes and leading us further into the exploration of the "more" that is all around us.
Kudos!!! Expertly executed enthralling work!
